In honor of just getting back from Malibu may I present to you the yummiest fish tacos you can make right in your kitchen. Missed you all a lot! Excited to be cooking for myself and you guys again ❤️
BLACKENED MAHI MAHI TACOS W/ AVOCADO CREMA: so whoa these are major. I got 4 decent size fillets of mahi mahi frozen from Trader Joe’s. Make sure they’re fully thawed for this recipe. Now we’re going to make some seasoning! In a shallow bowl add 6 TSP almond flour, 3 TSP sea salt, 2 TSP paprika, 1/2 TSP cayenne pepper, 1 TSP pepper, 2 TSP onion powder, 2 TSP garlic powder, and 1 TSP cumin. Comb it all together with a fork so it’s blended and really fine. Once your fish is thawed we’re going to cut it in 4 pieces. Cut once in middle length wise and the once across. This makes really great taco sized chunks and gives you more area to blacken. In a deep large pan, add avocado oil to completely coat the bottom. Let the oil get really hot. Pat your pieces of fish dry and then toss them in the seasoning mixture. Put them in the pan, don’t crowd it!, and cook 2-3 mins each side until fish is firm and has a gorg crust. Grill your tortillas, put a bed of shredded cabbage, and put your fish on top. Now we’re at the best part which is topping with our crema! In a food processor put one whole ripe avocado, 1/2 cup of sour cream, 1 TBS avocado oil, 1 lime juiced, 1 jalapeño with seeds and ribbing, 1 TSP salt, and 1 TSP chili lime seasoning from traderjoes. Blend that until smooth and then top your tacos. Enjoy 🤗
